Rowing Results Data

This is a study conducted by Growth Resources Institute to investigate the exceptional result of the United States U23 Women’s 8+ at the 2016 World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In our analysis of results at World Rowing Championship events, we found that the 2016 US Women’s U23 8+ had the largest winning margin in all 8+ events at the Senior and U23 level dating back to 1974.

Prior to racing the event all 9 athletes in the boat, including the coach, took the GRI survey which highlights each individuals unique strengths, motivations, and communication styles. The purpose of the study is to take data from the GRI survey, along with findings from individual meetings, and analyze how these factors played a role in the crews exceptional winning margin.
